God uses the small things to do His great work…

It's spooky season! At least according to the majority of the Western world it is. And although logically it doesn't make sense why thousands of people are terrified of death 11 months out of the year and celebrate it for 1, it does make sense spiritually.

Well well well! Look who's back. :) After months of silence, my faithful readers - (ha! who am I kidding?) - my family and friends deserve an explanation to the disappearance of this site from the world wide web. You probably haven't been dying of curiosity, but I've had some inquiries from a few people, and the rest of you get the explanation anyway!

   Resurrection weekend is my favorite holiday (holy day). The significance it has for the world, the staggering meaning behind the cross, the miracle of the empty tomb, the personal value it has for me (for me?!?), and then the additional bonus of celebrating new life during the advent of Spring pushes this celebration to high levels for me.

This post was written on Sunday evening, March 17. What started out as evening musings turned into a journal entry which turned into a blog post. :)

My new title. How'd ya like?

                Have you ever stood at the bottom of a mountain and looked up? The giant mass of rock and ice towers above you, blocking the sky from your view and making you feel as if you were the least important creature on earth. The mountain peak is not even visible as a massive cliff soars above your head, its sheer side polished and shining as if it were on fire. You wish to reach the top, but your own insignificance overwhelms you, dwarfed by a seemingly unattainable goal.

Looking for a short story to read in all the spare time I'm sure you must have this week? Sure you are. :) This is one I came up with while pondering how the inside of my body operates in it's ever-present fight against Lyme Disease. (Don't worry, it doesn't get gross ;) ) This is mostly imaginative, but the places and names with an asterisk mentioned in this tale are indeed real.

Okay, sorry. The title's not really about you. At least, I wasn't intending it that way. Please though, you will have a friend in me!!!! (And note, don't come to me with wishes. I did NOT say: you've never had a friend like me. I said: you will have a friend in me. There's a difference. The blog post still isn't about you though.)

...Truth is to be handed down. But that's not what this post is about. Nope. In this case, what has been handed down from generation to generation is ... a dress. More specifically, a wedding dress. Even more specifically, my great, great grandmother's wedding dress.
