Welcome (back) to Strands of Silver!

Well well well! Look who's back. :) After months of silence, my faithful readers - (ha! who am I kidding?) - my family and friends deserve an explanation to the disappearance of this site from the world wide web. You probably haven't been dying of curiosity, but I've had some inquiries from a few people, and the rest of you get the explanation anyway!

If you remember, my blog was attached to a website I have for selling my jewelry. Due to business decisions, I changed the 'plan' of that web host and lost the ability to run my blog the way I had been. That was nearly 6 months ago. I did enough research to know I wanted to switch platforms altogether and disconnect my blog from my business, and that's as far as I got when bam! It hit me. (It hit all the rest of you too, but you might be better adjusted to it than I obviously was not...wait does that make sense?) Summer rolled in like a tsunami wave and everything everywhere all at once was a lot more important than re-setting up a blog. 

(Come to think of it, I've done a lot of sitting since then - horse sitting, house sitting, baby sitting, pet sitting, kid sitting...why does that last one sound so weird???)

Yes, the posts stopped appearing. Yes, the website eventually vanished from the face of Google Cloud. (I switched the domain name. My jewelry website is now linked from the 'About' page of this website.) But NO. I did not stop writing. Not because I had plenty of time to write. Oh no. Definitely not that. For some reason however, writing is kinda wired into me. I can't help it sometimes, even if it's 1:30 in the morning and my eyes won't stay open. (If you're confused about this thought, talk to God. He's responsible.) So even though I had no blog, I wrote blog posts. And while a lot of these are not time-specific and I can put them out whenever I want and pretend like I just wrote them, one in particular won't work this way. 

Instead, I'm posting it after this one. It's up next in your feed, titled 'Snowy Blossoms'. It is very much Spring-oriented, and I'm well aware we are into the pumpkin season. But it's now or never with it, so if you're very nice you'll go and read it and pretend like it isn't old news. Anyway. I think that's enough explaining for now. 

Wait - two more things. Because I'm sentimental (or maybe I don't like watching my work sit in a corner untouched), I transferred most of the blog posts from my old site over to this one. The archives are here if you want them! :) And 2, I hope you like this new layout! The dropdowns in the menu should help with navigation and there are some fun pictures from our frequent photoshoots in the Gallery. :)
